String of Pearls care

String of Pearls shriveling

Thin creased beads in dry mix can mean depleted water reserves. The same beads over wet mix, especially with a soft crown, can mean roots are no longer delivering water.

Dry mix, firm green strands

Water slowly through the root ball and drain, then allow it to dry before the next watering. Check that water reached the center. Beads may regain firmness gradually.

Wet mix or soft stems

Inspect the crown and roots. Remove rotten tissue and preserve healthy strands beyond the damage using the root rot guide. Repeated watering cannot refill beads supported by failed roots.
