Evergreen diagnosis
Yellow leaves on oxalis are common, but the meaning changes with timing. A few old leaves fading is normal; many leaves yellowing together can point to drought, overwatering, low light, or the start of dormancy.
Because oxalis grows from rhizomes, the top can decline while the plant is still very much alive below the soil.
If leaves yellow, collapse, and the plant stops producing new growth, it may be entering dormancy. This often happens after a long growth period or a stress event.
Reduce watering instead of trying to force green leaves. Keep the pot barely moist to dry until new shoots begin.
Yellow leaves with constantly damp soil are more concerning. Rhizomes can rot if the pot stays wet while the plant is slowing down.
Check drainage, let the mix dry more, and give bright light when growth is active. Remove yellow stems at the base once they are spent.
Pause and inspect before adding water or fertilizer.
