Dracaena brown tips

Dracaenas can develop tip and margin damage from fluoride or accumulating salts, as well as drought, damaged roots, or hot airflow. A white crust is a salt clue, not a fluoride test.

Change the water source when needed

If new tips keep burning despite sound roots and consistent watering, try rainwater, distilled water, or reverse-osmosis water. A filter that improves taste may not remove fluoride or dissolved salts. Check the filter specification rather than its name.

Keep salts from accumulating

Reduce excessive fertilizer. When the plant is due for water and the pot drains well, water through the mix and discard runoff. If it is already wet and wilting, check roots first. Trim dry points with a thin brown margin left; existing damaged tissue cannot turn green.
