Alocasia yellow leaves

One oldest leaf can age while the rest remain firm. Repeated loss as every new leaf appears can also mean the plant lacks enough light, water, or healthy roots to support more foliage.

Check new growth and undersides

Pale stippling, tiny moving specks, and webbing suggest mites. Inspect under the broad leaves and around the veins, then isolate and treat if mites are found.

Check growth conditions

During active growth, water as the surface begins drying and drain excess. A cold or darker position slows water use, so check moisture before repeating the summer routine. Several yellow leaves with soft bases require a root and corm check; reduced seasonal growth alone is not proof of rot.
